KEY CHAIN DOLL MAKING
Had another grand time with the aurum kids at Xavier Estates last Saturday. Taught them how to make little dolls out of craft wire (skeleton), wood bead (head), different colors of yarn and straw (wrapped around the wire), sequins, cloth and small beads (for the dress).
Even the titas and moms said it was addicting to make. Although it was challenging to wrap the colored string especially at the tip of their hands and feet, they really enjoyed making them. We also assisted them in handling the craft wires.
At the end of the workshop, all the kids were happy to have made their own dolls.

ALTERED BOOK: JOURNAL MAKING
For the MOTHER AND DAUGHTER activity of Rosevale School here in Cagayan de Oro City, GOODIE BOX CRAFTS conducted an ALTERED BOOK: JOURNAL MAKING activity and just added more spice to the afternoon's theme of simply enjoying each other's company while expressing their love and care for each other.
The activity helped these teenagers as well as moms to express themselves through art and loved the idea of altering hardbound books to become journals. So many lessons to learn especially with Mrs. Thelma Mendoza's words of wisdom. This made us love our daughters more.

First Knitting Success
I am showing off my very first successful knitting project. I have been practicing how to knit for months now and voila! Made my very first head warmer, headband, head protector, head gear, etc... You can call it any names but I really love my creation!
I bought the imported yarn in SM City, Cebu where they featured their sale items and loved the thick yarn which made it easier for me to knit than thin yarns.
Anyway, I hope you'll also love it especially the color combination. I plan to make more if I can get hold of more sale items from the craft shop.

POP-UP BOOK
Yesterday, my daughter had to make a science project and it was about making a presentation out of the 5 Kingdoms
. She and her partner decided on making a book out of it. My crafty brain again jump started and suggested a pop-up book of the 5 Kingdoms.
We made it using mostly recycled materials
. The only thing new were the bond papers. We also had no more time to go out and buy new materials because she had to study for her exams the following day.

MATERIALS:
1. OLD HARDBOUND CHILDREN'S BOOK
2. COLORED ART PAPER
3. BOND PAPER
4. WHITE GLUE
5. SCISSORS
6. ACETATE
7. COLORFUL PICTURES FROM OLD BOOKS, MAGAZINES
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. DETACH PAGES OF THE OLD HARDBOUND CHILDREN'S BOOK.
2. COVER IT WITH COLORED ART PAPER
3. CUT COLORFUL PICTURES AND CLUE ON ART PAPER COVER
4. COMBINE WRITE-UPS AND POP-UP PAGES (will make a different tutorial for this) TO FORM A BOOK AND GLUE THEM ALL TOGETHER.
5. ATTACH THE COMBINED PAGES ON THE OLD HARDBOUND BOOKS WITH A GLUE GUN.
6. COVER FRONT AND BACK COVER WITH ACETATE.
TIME TO MAKE: 8 HOURS

RECYCLING BOTTLE JARS
Staring at the empty energy drink bottles on my table last week, I decided to tweak it by putting polymer clay on it. As a polymer clay addict, whatever material in sight (as long as it can stand heat) will be devoured by the colorful clays I have. I just love mixing colors because they appear supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!!

IT'S FREE TO DREAM
If you want to ask me what's my ultimate dream in terms of arts and crafts, well, find out in this video from bead & button:
It's so cool to be joining this kind of event and if I imagine myself to be there, wheeeeew! I will really be flabbergasted with the thought of having a dream come true, just like any other kid who might be in Disneyland.
Well, it's free to dream, right? And that's the power that we have as Homo Sapiens, being able to dream freely what we want in life. Although it may or may not come, just imagining wonderful things to happen will surely suffice me with happiness and awe at that.
Have a great day ahead!
Having dreams is free....
Fulfilling them is the best...
Getting them in an unexpected moment is the greatest...
